 MOSCOW: A 25-year-old Russian mother has been arrested for trying to sell her newborn daughter on an online black market.

According to the International News Agency, a mother of four named Louisa had placed an online advertisement for the adoption of her newborn daughter, on which a couple approached the woman.

The couple, who wanted to adopt the girl, were actually sent by law enforcement agencies, who were also installing hidden cameras. The woman was taken into custody by officers hiding in a cafe when Louisa handed over her daughter to the couple and took 3,000.

The head of the sting operation team said that after settling the sale of the baby girl, he called the woman through an NGO to persuade her not to sell the baby girl, but the woman listened to him. Refused

Before selling the baby, Louisa told her sister that she would use the proceeds from the sale of the baby to buy her favorite shoes first, while telling a buyer that she had to pay off a home loan.
